Pacers parkrun Championships

When

The first Saturday of the month, at any parkrun (some months the first Saturday clashes with other popular events so it will move to the nearest available Saturday). The series run for an entire year, from October –> September

What

  1. Each club member has been graded according to their parkrun results in the last 12 months. You can find out more about our club grading system here.
  2. When your parkrun results have been finalised, parkrun awards you an age grade percent score based on your run. You can find out more about parkrun age grading here
  3. Usually on the 1st Saturday of each month, we sort the club parkrun results. Firstly we sort everyone into their gender, then we sort those two groups into their club grade (A,B,C or D). Finally, we sort those results by the parkrun age grade percent. Essentially, you are only competing against those that are the same gender and club grade as you.
  4. Ten points are awarded to the highest parkrun age grade percent in your club grade, then 9 points for 2nd, 8 for 3rd, etc, to a minimum of 1 point.
  5. Over the course of the season, the points are accumulated. Your best 5 results of the season are totalled, to determine a yearly winner, in each of our grades for both male and female. In the event of a tie, a countback (highest total points across the entire season) will be used.

Example

Lets assume all the below people have all been graded by the club into the same club grade. In this example, points would be awarded as

  • Trish 10 points
  • Kate 9 points
  • Carina 8 points
  • Amanda 7 points
  • Laura 6 points
  • Jon gets 10 points in his grade for the men, since he’s the only male
